Added Feb 16, 2017 | Rate View top rated
Developed by the Italian automotive company Piaggio, Gita is a 26-inch tall robotic vehicle that can carry up to 40 pounds and is designed to be an everyday assistant to help people make their way around more freely. Gita can either navigate high-density urban spaces while following people, or move autonomously along pathways that it has already traveled. The robot balances itself as it travels and can run for eight hours. Gita maps its environment using stereoscopic and fisheye cameras - comparing images captures at different points in time and using the differences to infer the 3D structure of a scene.
