Inside Marriott International Headquarters' Lighting Retrofit
Added Feb 15, 2013 | Rate View top rated
A recent lighting update of the Marriott corporate headquarters led by Jim Young, vice president of facilities, and his team means that the Bethesda, ME-building will use 860,000 fewer kilowatt hours (kWhs) of electricity and save more than $120,000 in combined energy and maintenance costs a year. GE Lighting LED solutions were installed in several locations throughout the headquarters. Over 230 Evolve™ LED area lights illuminate Marriott’s outdoor lots, while inside the parking deck nearly 400 Evolve LED garage light fixtures have been installed. Marriott also gained the functionality to dim its new garage lighting with GE’s lighting control system with motion sensors, which allows for an 88,000-kWh reduction each year.
